Grease The Musical
Argenta Contemporary Theatre brings the 1959 Rydell High to life. Grease follows the leather-clad “Burger Palace Boys” and spirited “Pink Ladies” as they capture the style and sound of the rock ’n’ roll era. At the heart of the story, greaser Danny Zuko and new girl Sandy Dumbrowski navigate young love amid high-energy dance numbers and iconic songs like “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’,” and “Hopelessly Devoted.” Adding to the drama is Cha-Cha DiGregorio, St. Bernadette’s best dancer—famous for her reputation, her flair, and her unforgettable entrances bringing extra sparks to this celebration of the music that defined a generation.
The choreography was so much fun to watch. It was amazing how many actors fit on their stage and were still able to turn and move to the lively music. I think my favorite dance number was during the Hand Jive dance where ChaCha (Blakely White) comes in and stirs things up. The singing was equally sensational. There are so many favorite songs, but I really liked the additional songs like Freddy My Love, Mooning, and Shakin’ At The High School Hop.
